Neo-natal deaths .of the three million neonatal deaths in
the worlds , 779000 deaths occured in India
in 2012. Nigeria is the second largest after in India in Neo-natal
deaths .The first 24 hours after birth
determine the most critical period for the survival of Neo nate. Of the one
million neo natal deaths every day one third are in India .large number of
preterm births is the reason for around 50% of neonatal mortality
Poverty, adolescent pregnancy, lack of medical care are some
reasons for the preterm births .lack of well trained health care workers and
proper health care centers are acting as
barrier for improving new born survival.
