beginners computer tips


Here are a few tips to free yourself from dragging the mouse for performing basic tasks on the computer
. 1. If you want to close the browser windows after watching a video or after reading an article on google chrome, Mozilla firefox etc you can simply click ctrl+w to close the browser and ctrl+shift+w to close the whole window.
 2. To reopen an accidentally closed tab click ctrl+shift+T
 3. To increase font size in Microsoft word click ctrl+] to increase font size .ctrl+[ to decrease the font size. 4. Use alt+tab to shift between various windows.
 5. Use windows key +tab to shift between programmes.
 6. To use windows side by side click windows+left arrow to move to left half of the display and windows +right arrow right half to move to right of the display.
 7. To count the number of word in an article use alt+T+W
8. To change all caps to upper/lower case use alt+F9 on the selected text.
 9. To lock computer use windows key+L
10. To go to control panel use windows key+C
11. For selecting text: shift+home-from star line to where the cursor is; ctrl+shift+up arrow- form starting of paragraph to where the cursor is; shift+ends-selects text from where the cursor is to end of the line; ctrl+shift+down arrow –from point of cursor to end of paragraph.
