4 REASONS FOR DENTAL CORROSION.

Many know that candies cause tooth decay and this fact has been taught from our childhood. But with the changing trends of food habits , tooth erosion has been found worrying. The below  are the 4 reasons for  tooth erosion.

1.       Wine:
Many claim with the health benefits of wine ,but one thing which every one has to agree is the high acidic nature ,sometimes pH dropping below 3 which has to be looked at seriously.
2.       Sports drinks:
Studies found that tooth erosion is high among sports persons, because of the drinks the consume after heavy workouts when there saliva levels are low in mouth. Sports drinks with high pH and calcium are less harmful for dental corrosion.
3.       Caffeinated drinks:
Caffeine reduces saliva content in the mouth, which can be one reason for tooth corrosion, because saliva plays a vital role in diluting acids,  if you cannot prevent from having those drinks make sure you drink enough water.
4.       Soft drinks:

They are also highly acidic , some with pH levels of 2.4 because of ingredients like phosphoric acid, sodium citrate, citric acid and tartrates
